As David nears the end of his "wilderness experience" running from Saul, he seizes the opportunity to work toward the mission God had given to Israel decades earlier: claiming the Promised Land and ridding the land of idolatry. He has watched King Saul sit idly by for far too many years, and decides, "It's time to get going!" You and I have also been given a mission.
