1 and 2 Samuel were actually written as one book. As our story shows today, the contrast between Saul as king of Israel and David as king of Israel are paramount in understanding this great book. Saul ends his life in very much the same way that he reigned: selfishly and godlessly. As we see David's great beginning, we see a man who is broken over the things that break the heart of God. What will we do to ensure that we end our lives well? How can we finish strong? How can we begin well?
