In the last sermon of TGW's vision series, we look at Service Built on Grace. In Romans 12, Paul focuses on the effect of a transformed life. His contention is that we have been given grace, and grace gifts, so that we could use them in service to God, the local church and one another. Put simply, the grace that we've been given by God should lead us to accomplish 'grace-works' in our church and in our community. Those works are our worshipful responses to His work of salvation in our lives.

Though we may live in close geographic proximity to one another, we often do not live in close spiritual and emotional proximity to one another. Through small groups of people who meet in homes throughout the week (called Community Groups), the vision of the GraceWorks is to see people brought together in order to minister to one another and the world. We see the four functions of Community Groups vividly portrayed in the early church in Acts chapter 2. Through teaching, prayer, fellowship, and service outreach we pray God turns our community upside down, as it did then!

As part of The GraceWorks strategy to encourage Relationships Built on Grace, we seek to esteem and equip Families. In Ephesians 5 and 6, Paul encourages believers to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Acknowledging Jesus as the most important person in our families motivates us to elevate one another, and to fulfill our individual roles in our families. The church also has a responsibility to equip and esteem its families, and to fill in the gaps when (not if) families need it.

Throughout Scripture, we see that worship is a response to a worthy God. It is ordained by God for specific purposes. Because of that, worship at TGW is strategic in nature. Powerful corporate worship is only possible when personal worship is valued and prioritized.
