In this week's study of Samuel, David will finally be established as king of all Israel. All of Samuel has led up to this. And it's been a long time coming… Not only that, but God will make it SO worth the wait. David will be the greatest king in Israel's history, and God will promise to establish his bloodline all the way to the KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS, Jesus Christ. We, too, are called to wait on the Lord, at times. He puts a high premium on waiting. So what can we learn from King David's journey about God's slow and low BBQ cooker called life? Tune in to find out…

A House Divided is a House Ineffective - Video
Sunday Apr 28, 2013
Sunday Apr 28, 2013
After the death of King Saul and the defeat of Israel at the hands of the Philistines, the nation lies in shambles. Although David has been anointed by God as the next king, Saul's cousin, Abner, tries to elevate Ish-Bosheth as the heir to Saul's vacant throne. This produces a kingdom divided! The result is seven and a half years of unproductive and ineffective in-fighting. Rather than battling the real enemy, Israel was fighting itself. As believers, we can fall into the same trap. When we do, we become ineffective in the real mission God has called us to.

End Well. Begin Well - Video
Sunday Apr 14, 2013
Sunday Apr 14, 2013
1 and 2 Samuel were actually written as one book. As our story shows today, the contrast between Saul as king of Israel and David as king of Israel are paramount in understanding this great book. Saul ends his life in very much the same way that he reigned: selfishly and godlessly. As we see David's great beginning, we see a man who is broken over the things that break the heart of God. What will we do to ensure that we end our lives well? How can we finish strong? How can we begin well?

FACT: God is sovereign. He has independent and total power. He is uncontrolled by external forces. That fact is pretty amazing by itself; but couple that fact with his grace and his mercy, and you have the beauty of Yahweh! In 1 Samuel 29-30 we see the beauty of the God who uses his strength for good. Always. And we will see what our proper response to this God looks like in the life of David.

Easter: The Eye-Opener - Video
Sunday Mar 31, 2013
Sunday Mar 31, 2013
Easter is the occasion of Jesus' resurrection, proving that he has power over sin and death. With the empty tomb and in his appearance on the road to Emmaus, Jesus opened his followers eyes to the plan for today--salvation from the penalty of sin. Likewise, in his appearance to the disciples and his commissioning of them opened their eyes to the plan for tomorrow--proclaiming the salvation that he offers freely. We also have salvation available to us and are called to be witnesses of what he has done in our lives.
