Sunday Jul 14, 2013
Sunday Jul 14, 2013
As King David is returning to Jerusalem, he is faced with another rebellion, this time by a man named Sheba. Through Sheba's negative example, we see that real authority is GIVEN, not taken, and that as leaders, we need to lead TOWARD the right destination, not just against something.

Sunday Jul 07, 2013
With the end of Absalom's revolt against King David, it is time for peace. But, God's version of peace (shalom) is much better than just an end of hostilities. It takes action, because peace is a verb. Shalom means whole, full relationships. We can take a cue, in terms of our own relationships, from King David as he forgives, restores and blesses in the pursuit of shalom.

No Reconciliation? Prepare for Rebellion - Video
Sunday Jun 16, 2013
Sunday Jun 16, 2013
Absolom's exile form his father, King David, continues. It eventually requires intervention from David's adviser Joab. Unfortunately, the "reconciliation" that takes place between David and Absalom is not genuine. As the years pass, the conflict deepens, and Absolom goes into full rebellion against his father. There is much to learn for dads (and all of us in leadership positions) from this cautionary tale.
