Paul addressed this book to the churches of Galatia, which he had planted. There was danger that heretical teachings would cause them to slip from the foundation of grace that had been laid by God. Like the Galatians, we must remember that our entire lives (everything) rests on the foundation of grace.

Jesus' entire ministry was designed to show the people around him how much he cared for their needs, and to tell them of the good news of the kingdom of God. He sent the disciples on mission to show and tell, and we are to do likewise.

Love must permeate the Christian's life. Love must be the motivation. The very reason for Advent is God's love for mankind. Without love, our celebrations at Christmas lack context and can be useless, even destructive.

Paul outlines Jesus' motivation for coming to Earth, as well as providing us an example to follow. He gave his presence to us at Christmas. Jesus' goals were to serve others, build relationships and sacrifice himself. We should seek to do the same.
